Background: RubinBrown encourages open communication, feedback and discussion about any matter of importance to team members. Policy: RubinBrown is committed to an “open door” work environment. We encourage team members to talk freely with members of Management Group and Firm Leadership. Whether it is a problem, complaint, suggestion or even an observation; by listening to our team members we are able to improve, to address complaints, and to cultivate team member understanding of the rationale for practices, processes, and decisions. Procedure: Most concerns can and should be resolved in discussion with the Team Member's Career Advocate(s). If the concern is not resolved in a timely manner, it should be brought to the attention of the Human Resources Department. Our goal is to resolve the concern within a reasonable period of time while preserving the confidentiality and privacy of those involved whenever possible. Team members utilizing our “Open Door” policy will not be penalized for doing so. It is the responsibility of the Career Advocate(s) or Management Group member to investigate the complaint, find a resolution or solution, then to document and communicate the outcome to the team member within a reasonable amount of time. Decisions will not be precedent setting nor binding on future grievances unless officially stated as RubinBrown policy. When possible, decisions will be retroactive to the date of the official complaint. While this policy will not result in every concern being resolved to everyone’s satisfaction, you will find that managers at all levels of RubinBrown willing to listen and to assist in bringing about a solution, resolution or clarification. RubinBrown is interested in the success of all team members. RubinBrown prohibits any form of retaliation against team members who report an internal complaint. Implementation of the internal complaint procedure by a team member does not limit the right of RubinBrown to proceed with any disciplinary action deemed appropriate by RubinBrown which is not in retaliation for the use of the internal complaint procedure.
