Background: RubinBrown provides credit for periods of prior service with the Firm for certain qualifying benefits. Policy: Credit for prior service is awarded immediately upon rehire or upon reinstatement following a separation of service with RubinBrown. Procedure: Credit for previous service will be granted upon rehire or reinstatement following any breaks in service from RubinBrown. An approved leave of absence of less than 90 days is not considered a break in service. Paid time off will be calculated as if there was no break in service. If a team member fails to return from a medical leave or non-medical leave of absence, as scheduled, the break in service will occur with the end of the approved leave or upon resignation. Team members with credit for prior service, will receive an adjusted service date. The adjusted service date represents all periods of service to the Firm. The adjusted service date is used to determine and calculate specific benefit eligibility, including Paid Time Off, when applicable. Team members who are rehired or reinstated within twelve months of their separation date will be eligible for the reinstatement of paid time off which was forfeited upon separation from the Firm. Team members are responsible for notifying Human Resources of prior service with RubinBrown. The Human Resource Department, after verification, will award credit for prior service according to the provision of this policy.
