In the event of a crisis, it is essential that an effective communications plan be put into effect to disseminate timely, accurate information and to ensure that inquiries are routed to the appropriate sources. The Marketing Department is responsible for the development and dissemination of all Firm communications in the event of a crisis. The priority will be on maintaining an open flow of communications with media representatives, providing complete and accurate information that has been confirmed about the emergency situation and the Firm’s response to the crisis at hand. Under no circumstance will a team member comment or provide communication regarding crisis, express opinions regarding the source, situation or outcome. Speculation and/or opinion of any nature will be avoided by all RubinBrown team members. Names of team members involved in crises situations are never to be communicated or stated publicly. In all cases, the safety and privacy of our team members as well as respect for the privacy of their family members is our first priority. The suggested verbal or written response in a crisis: “It is RubinBrown’s policy to refer all calls on this matter to the marketing department. Please email info@rubinbrown.com with your request.” In the event of a crisis situation, the communications team will have specific instructions including firm statements addressing the specific incident or crisis as soon as possible. RubinBrown reserves the right to take action, disciplinary up to and including termination, regarding any team member that violates this policy.
