Background: RubinBrown does not tolerate the presence of illegal drugs or the illegal use of legal drugs in our workplace. Policy: The use, possession, distribution, or sale of controlled substances such as drugs or alcohol, or being under the influence of such controlled substances is strictly prohibited while at work, on RubinBrown’s premises, on a client's premises, work sites, or company sponsored events. When alcohol is served at a company sponsored event, team members are expected to remain professional by limiting their intake of alcoholic beverages. Team members observed or found possessing or arranging for the sale of controlled substances on or near RubinBrown’s premises will be subject to immediate discharge. Procedure: If there is a need to take a prescription drug that affects the ability to perform assigned job duties, team members are required to discuss possible accommodations with Human Resources. When necessary, team members may be asked to provide appropriate medical documentation. If a team member reports to work and is under the influence of controlled substances and/or is operating with impaired ability to work efficiently and safely, alone or with others, the team member will not be allowed to enter the premises and will be escorted home. Team members who are present and operating under the influence of controlled substances will be subject to suspension pending further investigation. The team member will not be permitted to return to work until the investigation has been completed and a decision concerning corrective action has been made. The Career Advocate(s) will be advised by Human Resources as soon as action has taken place. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
