Absence From Work

Team members who follow the appropriate procedure and qualify for reinstatement will be reinstated as follows: • If the team member’s period of service was less than 91 days: The team member will be reinstated to the position left had employment not been interrupted by the service, provided that the team member is qualified to perform the duties of that position. Reasonable efforts to assist team members maintain job qualifications, including training apply. • If the team member’s period of service lasts 91 days or more: The team member will be reinstated to the position that the team member would have been holding had employment not been interrupted by service or to a position of like seniority, status, and pay, the duties of which the person is qualified to perform. Reasonable efforts to assist the team member become qualified, including training apply. To obtain reemployment, a team member must submit an application as follows: • If service is less than 31 days, the team member must report for reemployment at the beginning of the first full regularly scheduled work day following completion of service. • If service is for more than 31 days, but less than 180 days, the team member must submit an application for reemployment no later than 14 days following the completion of service. • If the service is over 180 days, the team member must submit an application for reemployment no later than 90 days following the completion of service. Upon return from military service the team member’s salary, position or like position and seniority will be reinstated upon honorary discharge. Discharge documentation will be requested.
