Background: RubinBrown carries Worker’s Compensation Insurance which provides benefits for compensable injury or illness which have occurred during work either at a team member’s place of work or while traveling on Firm business. Policy: RubinBrown requires that all team member injuries or illnesses that have been sustained during scheduled work time be promptly reported to their Career Advocate(s) or other member of Management Group. If necessary, medical attention should be sought immediately. Procedure: All injuries, both major and minor, must be reported to Human Resources immediately and when necessary, attended to by a health care provider as soon as possible. Contact Human Resources for referral to a medical facility or health care provider. The Career Advocate(s) or member of Management Group should contact Human Resources within 24 hours of the injury or illness. A Report of Injury Form will be completed by the Human Resource Department on the same day that the incident is reported. Team members may be permitted or required to return to a “light duty” work schedule, with the approval of a health care provider when the team member’s condition allows for reasonable accommodation and does not present undue hardship to the business and efficiency of RubinBrown. During periods of rehabilitation, team members may be compensated at their regular base rate of pay for “light duty” work. Compensation for “light duty” work will be determined according to the compensation schedule for the specific job being performed. RubinBrown reserves the right for sole discretion when defining both reasonable accommodation and undue hardship. RubinBrown reserves the right to require team members be examined by a health care provider selected by the Firm and to discontinue compensation in those situations where medical evidence does not support the claim.
