OKLAHOMA CITY REGION

The Oklahoma City Region’s 8.1% three year compounded annual growth rate is the highest of any NIGC region. While the Region has enjoyed the highest growth rate since 2008, its average revenue per casino operation is the second lowest of all NIGC regions at $33.4 million. Oklahoma City Region’s high growth rate can be attributed to the continued expansion of Class III gaming since Oklahoma implemented the 2005 standard tribal gaming compact and limited commercial competition surrounding the Region. Tribes within the Oklahoma City Region continue to expand their operations and reinvest in their current properties. In 2012, the Region celebrated three new casinos: The Delaware Nation opened its second casino, Casino Oklahoma, located 50 miles west of Oklahoma City on Interstate 40, offering 30,000 square feet of gaming and over 600 games. The Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma opened the Kickapoo Casino – Shawnee, located in Shawnee, Oklahoma, near Interstate 40. Kickapoo Casino – Shawnee is the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma’s second casino and features 300 gaming machines. The Chickasaw Nation opened the Salt Creek Casino, located 8 miles north of Chickasha, Oklahoma, on U.S. Highway 81. Salt Creek Casino is the Chickasaw Nation’s 17th casino and offers 36,000 square feet of gaming and over 550 games. The Kickapoo Tribe of Texas began a $90 million expansion of its Lucky Eagle Casino, located near Eagle Pass, Texas. The expansion includes a 250-room hotel, additional casino floor space accommodating 500 new games, and several new restaurants. The Fort Sill Apache Tribe rebranded its casino as the Apache Casino Hotel, located near Lawton, Oklahoma, after opening a 132-room hotel at the casino. The Comanche Nation approved the addition of a 93-room hotel to the Red River Casino, located on Interstate 44 in Oklahoma, 20 miles north of Wichita Falls, Texas. The hotel expansion will compliment the casino’s renovation project completed at the end of 2011. In addition to new casino openings, 2012 renovation projects in the Oklahoma City Region included:
