and many other technologies that provide energy in new ways. Collectively, the continual evolution of technology has been remarkable. Throughout the world, we’ve been able to increase the quality and safety of animal based foods, produce food in unthinkable places, benefit from the advances in medical devices, fight diseases and other ailments with new medications, and provide power for our homes, businesses and transportation. These staggering achievements combined with the level of efficiencies gained have made technology one of the most important drivers of success for the life sciences industry.

Additionally substantial advances have been made in the area of artificial limbs and with restoration of fine motor movement within artificial devices. As a result, we have been able to live longer, healthier and more productive lives. Renewable Energy As the natural resources that we take for granted are consumed at a rapid pace, renewable energy has become critical in allowing us to maintain resources that we have taken for granted over the years. The rising cost of fuel and concerns about global warming have cast the spotlight on opportunities to develop technology in renewable energy. Imagine the possibility that technology will allow for an unlimited power supply on transportation without stopping for refueling or recharging. We have already seen advances in technology such as wind power, alternative fuels, recycling, repurposing of waste into usable energy, clean coal
