Commercial construction activity tends to lag the overall economy. Many contractors were able to get by the first year of the economic downturn by working off deep backlogs of commercial work. As an increased number of contractors are entering into the world of government contracting, these newly minted “government contractors” will soon appreciate the unique and complex rules of contracting with the federal government.
