For RubinBrown’s part, we presented on the continued importance of “flipping” the way that accounting and finance departments are viewed. Our presentation focused on the importance of challenging existing accounting practices and financial reporting practices to support continuous improvement. The accounting and finance team are a critical component to a culture of continuous improvement and to providing the right information to decision makers so that your company can innovate.

Understanding the job to be done will allow you to develop new products and services that truly meet your customers’ needs. Keynote Speaker Peter Sheahan put it best when discussing one of his six overarching principles in his book Flip, “find it on the fringe.”
