In today’s business environment, innovation is important to manufacturing and distribution companies. Facing low cost foreign competition, a global economy and customers who demand more from their products or services, it is more important than ever for manufacturing and distribution companies to find innovative ways to maintain and grow their business.

Many years ago, a business might choose the strategy of being the “low cost” provider or perhaps, the company with the highest quality product. But then the concept of “lean manufacturing” came along, and companies at both ends of this spectrum added “velocity to the customer” to their preferred strategy.
