Generally the purchaser of the practice will be able to take over the practice and work with the doctor for a period of time ranging from 30 days to many years. In some instances, an elder doctor may want to leave as soon as possible, and in other instances, the doctor may want an associate to come into the practice and reduce or eliminate the call requirements. The new doctor may be able to build his or her own practice in a few years. It may also be necessary for the practice to bring in another doctor to replace the withdrawing physician. If you have questions regarding this topic, please call. We have assisted many physicians who considered selling or retiring from practice and are available to meet with you to discuss this very important decision.
